This is one of my favority Cathe DVD. I have it for about 2 yrs and I keep reaching for it when I get bored at the gym. Ones you get the steps is so much fun and make you sweat a lot. If you don't get it the 1st and 2nd time don't give up. It took me probably 3-4 tries to get the whole rutine down.

This is my new workout!

I've done Cathe's basic step for years and was ready for something more challenging. This is it! The steps were not too hard to pick up - by themselves, the steps are pretty easy, but it goes quickly. I just do 2 or 3 intervals 3 times a week (and I rest in between each interval:). It's great cardio and great for legs and glutes. I love that there are countless ways you can mix up the intervals, and thereby keep your muscles guessing. This is a lot of fun and I actually look forward to my workout! Thanks, Cathe! Feb. 6, 2010 Here is an update: I have lost 9 lbs, 2 inches off my hips and waist, and can now do 4 or 5 intervals in one workout! The first time I did this 3 months ago, the warm-up left me huffing and puffing! I'm much stronger and toned now and it's only been 3 months. Awesome workout!

Difficult to follow, too dancy...

I'm an avid athlete with many years of experience in Step Training and I find this workout difficult to follow with all of the dance moves, turns and redirection. In this particular workout, Cathe does not cue her audience very well and by the time you pick up the sequence, you're into the next dancy sequence and your stepping with the wrong feet.
I don't have time to slow the DVD down and take my time to learn the dance steps. It does look like fun but I prefer Cathe's other DVD's where the cueing is more instructional and actually builds the sequence effectively.

Remembering how fun step can be!

Just tried LowMax for the first time yesterday - did the premix with just the combos, as I was still recovering from MuscleMax the day before!
I had a great time with this DVD - I haven't done step for a few years now, and was a bit worried about getting back into it, but I really enjoyed the workout. Cathe's cueing is great, and by the end I was really in the groove. I love that I can do a hard cardio workout without putting any strain on my joints/feet.
My husband poked his head in during one combo and commented on how complicated it looked, but that's just one of the reasons I like step- the patterns keep you thinking and take you through great ranges of motion for your whole body. Can't wait to do it again with the blasts!

This workout was so much fun, and the time flew right by. The blasts all concentrated on legs and glutes, and you could really feel it. Despite the low impact, it was great exercise and you could add a jump here or there if you wanted to raise the impact. The music was fun, and I felt like I was exercising with friends in a friendly, fun atmosphere. I can't wait to do this workout again. Thanks, Cathe!
